Alexandros Dandoulakis teaches electric guitar, at Musical Praxis Conservatory.

           

Studies

Alexandros Dandoulakis was born and raised in Heraklion, Crete. He studied at the Department of Applied Mathematics and Natural Sciences at NTUA. and at the same time music at Musical Praxis Conservatory. He graduated from West London University (London College of Music) with a Licentiate of Teacher’s Diploma.

Professional Activity

He has collaborated and coexisted with many Greek artists but also with important musicians abroad such as Bill Frisell, Monophonics, Alan Zavod (Frank Zappa & the Mothers), Soul Jazz Orchestra, Thievery Corporation, Radio Moscow etc. His personal works range in many musical styles but he greatly favored the solo approach of the electric guitar.

In 2018 he participated in the 18th Athens Jazz Festival of the Technopolis of the Municipality of Athens as well as in the music section Music escapades at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center. Participated in the festival “Kazantzakeia”, in the thematic section traveling to Russia where he adapted works by Sergei Rachmaninoff and presented the solo project at TEDx in Chania. In 2019 he released his first solo album “Alex Dante plays F. Chopin’s Nocturnes” and in 2021 “Alex Dante Duet plays S.Rachmaninoff” by Liberta Music on vinyl, and all digital platforms.

Educational Activity

Since 2004 he has been teaching at conservatories in Athens and in 2006 he became a member of the team for the Musical Praxis Conservatory, teaching electric guitar, musical ensembles and modern theory. He has been the head of the modern department for the Conservatory of the Municipality of Heraklion, Crete from 2016 to 2018 and is an RGT guitar tutor since 2009.
